For thousands of years, people in many cultures around the world have worn evil eye charms, plus keeping amulets in their homes to ward off all evil eyes and create a protective shield against the evil spirits.

As a protective barrier, an evil eye necklace, wall hanging, evil eye bracelet was created to stare back at the eyes of harm. It is believed to mirror back the blue of the evil eye and thus mystify it.

The exact origin of the Evil Eye amulet is unknown. The belief of the Evil Eye amulet is strongest in the Mediterranean but it is highly likely that the use of amulets to protect from curses originated in Ancient Egypt. The origin of the Evil Eye can be traced back three thousand years to the region of Sumer in Mesopotamia, but again, the origins probably dated back a lot further.
